About Library

The Library is built the area of 3233 sq. m 300 Seating capacity and specialized collections of Books, Journals & Non-book materials are available in Engineering, Technology Science and Humanities. The Library is replete with 29368 Volumes of Books, 2266 CDS. 1692 Back Volumes. The Library Subscribes to 85 National, 93 International Journals and 15 magazines. All the Library operations are automated and the barcode technology is implemented. AUTOLIB Library Software is used. The software has all the operational modules such as Book accessing, transaction, administration, periodical control, Book acquisition, reporting and queries modules etc.

Working Hours

Monday to Saturday - 8.30 A.M. to 8.00 P.M.

Rules and Regulations

Library will remain open from 8.30 am to 8.00 pm on all working days.
Students, staff joining NIET will be directly enrolled as members of the library.
The users are required to sign in the E- Gate register regularly.
Students and staff of Nehru Group of institutions shall be permitted to refer the resources in all NGI libraries on production of their ID cards.
Alumni and outside visitors from academic institutions will be permitted to refer the resources only on production of their valid ID cards and also with the permission of the head of the institution.
Readers and visitors are requested not to carry, their personal belongings of the like folders, bags, jerkins, umbrellas and also books already issued into the library. All these things to be placed in the property counter.
Complete silence and strict discipline is to be maintained inside the library by all users. Every user shall ensure that no reader should feel disturbed by any act of him/her.
Use of mobile phones is strictly prohibited in the library.
Dictionaries, Encyclopaedias, Expensive books, Single copy text books, journals magazines and newsletter are meant for reference only, but certain books journals placed in reference classes may be borrowed at the discretion of the librarian.

Renewal for a further period of 15 days will be permitted only once. However, the renewal has to be done within the due date, only through OPAC.
A fine of Rs 2 per day per book will be collected for each day of delayed return. The students will be allowed to hold back the books with fine for a maximum period of 5 days.
Any book issued at any point of time, can be recalled by the librarian at any moment.
No book shall be taken out of the library unless it is entered in the system.
If a book is lost or damaged by the borrower, it should be immediately informed to the librarian in writing and the same should be traced or replaced within 15 days from the due date and replace the current edition of the book or pay double the cost.
